A few £s spent checking out each new customer will determine the credit terms you should apply, or not and save you time and money chasing “bad” debts at a later stage.
A good starting point is to understand just how much of your current sales ledger is recoverable, by asking us to produce a Recoverability Index (PRI) This checks out all your customers and rates each one with a % possibility of collection. If you intend raising finance at some stage, your lender will want this information.
